VOLUNTEER
The Goffstown Network food pantry is administered and staffed entirely by volunteers. There are many different volunteer opportunities, and scheduling is very flexible. The pantry welcomes high school students who are either fulfilling a service requirement, or simply serving their community. Parents with children who are 8 years or older may volunteer as a family, if desired.
Pantry volunteers may do one, or more, of the following:
FOOD PANTRY:
Volunteer during pantry open hours (Wednesdays 5:45 – 7:45 pm and Saturdays 9:45 – 11:45 am). Volunteers work upstairs receiving clients, and downstairs sorting and packing. If you have a preference, you will be scheduled accordingly. Volunteers are especially appreciated for Saturdays!
Volunteers are asked to work one 2 hour shift per month, and they can choose which day of the week they prefer. Volunteers can trade shifts, and find substitutes if needed.
PURCHASING/STOCKING:
Volunteer weekday mornings assisting our purchasing agents. This schedule is flexible.
WEEKEND PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS:
Volunteer during the week for the Weekend Food Program for Students. Volunteers sort and pack the food bags, as well as hand them out on distribution days. This area is fully staffed, so is not currently available for new volunteers.
ON CALL:
Volunteer to be on a list to be called for special events, such as food drives and holiday food programs. You could also be placed on a sub list for the pantry open hours.
